The Prime unit combines a Ring Main Unit (RMU), transformer, power electronics, High Voltage (HV) metering and supporting equipment in a single robust stainless steel enclosure.
Each Prime can support up to 8 charging outlets. (This can be increased to 24 or more where sequential charging for fleet vehicles is in use.) Outlets can be used individually, or connected together to make 400kW, 800kW or even 1.2MW outlets.
Prime has a maximum continuous output of 1.2MW. It analyses total charging demand for all connected vehicles against the available grid capacity and dynamically allocates the appropriate power to each charging outlet at a resolution of 1kW. The power sharing algorithm is customisable on a site-by-site basis.
Prime is also designed from the ground up to scale. Whether adding Power Electronics Blocks to add new or upgrade existing outlets to expanding beyond the 1.2MW continuous rating by linking multiple Prime units from a single HV connection
