Kwetta (formerly Red Phase) wins on demo night
On 29 October Kwetta (formerly Red Phase) won the 'Most Innovative Solution' and a $15k cash injection at the awards dinner on Demo Night. The award was presented by the Honorable Minister, Dr Megan Woods who discussed the importance of digitisation and transformation of power grids to support de-carbonisation.
The technology was conjured up in founder Robert Turner’s garage at home in Napier to fix the problem with his own solar panels. Kwetta (formerly Red Phase) entered the Orion Accelerator with a prototype, and walked out with a business, as well as the $15,000 Orion startup grant. In addition addressing solar panel challenges, Kwetta (formerly Red Phase) also partnered with Orion during the accelerator to apply their power electronic grid modelling capabilities to find solutions to grid issues.
Kwetta (formerly Red Phase) would like to acknowledge the support of Orion, Ministry of Awesome and Are Ake with their support during the programme.
